Marble, Travertine or a Rectified Porcelain Mud Set Floor

It all starts with clean builders sand and Portland Cement

# 1 Mud Set

With cracked concrete to start with you MUST use a Crack-Isolation membrane.

#2

One-at-a-time - 'thin-set' on the back of each tile to be laid.

# 2a Mud Set

Then 'thin-set' on the space on the floor where the tile is to be placed.

# 3 Mud Set

# 4 Mud Set

Portland and sand mixed 'damp' put over the thin set so everything bonds together.

Transforming A Home With LED Lighting and Texture

Three views of the same room-

Notice the difference in the mood, atmosphere and ambience of the space.

It all depends on the amount of light and its dramatic effect on the textures used.

living1

Daylight with a small amount of LED lighting.

L1 2

Notice the difference in the ‘feel’ of the room at dusk.

L4

The night light creates a dramatic effect on the room and those in it.

living3

A different daylight view.

L3

A show case of the two textures side by side.

L2

A framed shot of the textured accent wall.

wall2

Look closely at the wave texture in daylight – it’s almost mesmerizing.

T2

The texture dramatically increases with the amount of light and time of day.

T3

The cubic texture creates a contrast that one has to see to fully appreciate.

Granite Countertop Installation

Granite Countertop Installation

CONSTRUCTION AND FABRICATION OF GRANITE KITCHEN AND BATH TOPS:

First the template is made with 1/4" plywood screwed together and marked for the factory.

Granite makeup table with mirror.

Template for double bowl sink.

Master Bath in granite with a 4" backsplash and mirror above.

A template for a Granite drop-in tub deck.

Now the same view but completely done and all is perfect.

The templates are taken to the factory where they are placed on the most beautiful part of the granite slab -the best layout is where thestone patterns flow from one template to the next so when finished they aesthetically fit together as if they were formed together in nature.

Templates are positioned on the granite sawing table ready for cut-out and final finishing by hand.

Crown Molding Installation

INSTALLATION OF CROWN MOLDING WITH COPED CORNERS:

Coping a piece of crown moulding to get a great, invisible fit at the corners.

Every piece is hand-fit from the previous piece so that the molding flows as if all grew there together.

The finish-nail air gun allows the fit today using modern construction technology to achieve great results.

All the cracks and nail holes will disappear easily when the painter performs his magic.

The molding inside and outside corners "just grew there" with fine-craftsmen installation.

Crown molding is a three man job for the greatest efficiency and a fantastic finished product.

The finished crown with a crown "skirt" - giving a bigger molding at the ceiling to keep the room in-scale.

Ceramic Floor Installation

TRAVERTINE "FRENCH PATTERN" FLOOR PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION:

Cutting out the crack suppression membrane - we cover the cracks below the tile - so they never come through the finished floor.

The crack suppression membrane must be primed and glued down.

The membrane is carefully fitted over the crack beneath.

The membrane is flattened completely.

The Travertine floor is adhered to the completely clean and ready concrete with multi-purpose thin set which bonds the floor completely.

Travertine pieces are fitted one by one to make the barely distinguishable "French Pattern".

Flooring coming along to the exterior french door.

The completely cleaned and polished Travertine floor will last a lifetime.  The shine you see is the stone itself!

Moore Garden Evolution

The client wanted a focal point from the 2nd story of the house - The idea came forth- I put it on the ground to see it.

It Begins to Take Shape

The complex forming process came into being

More refinement of the forms - ready for concrete

Forms removed, concrete installed - ready for the floor

Concrete floors finished

The concrete structure is completely water protected and then faced with travertine stone ready for planting.

The Concentric Circle Garden is complete with plants and 'becomes' a place to look at, sit and talk. An outdoor "Garden Room".
